Site to host shopping event to rival Black Friday to celebrate 20th Birthday.

Marketplace leader Amazon is to run a huge day of sales on July 15 to celebrate its 20th birthday.

The site will administer sales that, according the company, will be “filled with more deals than Black Friday”. Customers will see discounted products across the whole of Amazon’s ranges, including electronics, toys and films.
In order to receive the offers, customers must already be a member of Amazon Prime.

However, in a bid to promote the sales, and the event; the company is offering a 30-day free trial, as well as a discounted membership fee of £59 for the year, a minor reduction to the normal price of £79.

Keeping in line with the Black Friday theme, Amazon will be adding new ‘Lightning Deals’ through the day available to customers worldwide. Amazon will also offer six popular Deals of the Day and of course as it’s for Prime members everything will come with unlimited fast, free delivery. These deals will see new products added to the sale up to every ten minutes, which last until they are sold out.
